Snoring remedies

Snoring remedies start in your bedroom

Snoring can be a major disruption, not just to your sleep but to your partner’s, too. While we often focus on products and medical causes, your bedroom environment plays a surprisingly big role in how much (or how little) you snore each night. Making your space more snore-friendly could be one of the easiest snoring remedies to try and you might be surprised at just how effective it can be. Here are our top tips for creating a sleep environment that supports quieter, more restful nights.

1. Keep your bedroom cool and well-ventilated

Overheating at night can dry out your airways, trigger mouth breathing and increase the likelihood of snoring. A cooler room temperature (ideally around 16-18°c) promotes better airflow and deeper sleep.

Try opening a window, using a fan or swapping your duvet for breathable cotton bedding. These small tweaks can work alongside your usual snoring remedies to make a real difference, especially in warmer months.

2. Elevate your head

Sleeping completely flat can cause your tongue and soft palate to fall backwards and block your airway. This is especially common in back sleepers. Using a slightly elevated pillow or adjustable bed wedge can reduce this risk.

For snorers dealing with mild to moderate sleep apnoea, the Snoreeze Oral Device is one of the most recommended snoring products. It works by holding your jaw in the right position to improve airflow.

Pair your Oral Device with the free SoundSleep app. It allows you to track your snoring, review night-time reports and monitor how well your chosen solution is working.

3. Snoring remedies to target congestion and allergies

Your bedroom might be harbouring hidden snoring triggers. Dust mites, pet dander and pollen can all inflame your airways and lead to nasal congestion, making you more likely to snore.

Wash your bedding regularly and consider investing in an air purifier. You can also try Snoreeze Nasal Spray, Nasal Strips or the Nasal Dilator before bed.

These natural snoring remedies help clear congestion and open up your nasal passages for easier breathing.

4. Ditch the devices

Blue light from screens can mess with your melatonin levels and delay your natural sleep cycle. Lack of quality sleep contributes to deeper, louder snoring.
Create a wind-down routine that avoids screens at least 30 minutes before bed. Instead, opt for a book, calming music or practice breathing exercises.

5. Use targeted throat hydration

Dry air in your bedroom can leave your throat parched and irritated, especially if you breathe through your mouth whilst sleeping. This dryness increases tissue vibration, one of the main causes of snoring.

The Snoreeze Throat Spray, Oral Strips and Lozenges work by coating and hydrating the soft tissue at the back of your throat, helping to reduce snoring for up to 8 hours. These products are designed to help reduce snoring and give you a more comfortable night’s sleep, ideal for anyone waking up with a dry mouth or sore throat.
