When you sleep, your muscles relax, including the ones in your throat. This relaxation can cause your airway to narrow, making it difficult for your lungs to inhale and exhale the amount of air you need.
If your airway narrows, the air you breathe is pulled through it faster. This causes the soft tissue in the airway to dehydrate and vibrate. The sound this makes is what you hear as snoring.
The Snoreeze LabFit Oral Device treats loud snoring by holding your jaw forward during sleep. This helps to keep your airway open, stopping it from collapsing during the night and helping you to breathe easily.
Snoring is caused by the soft tissue in the back of the throat vibrating when your airway relaxes during sleep. But in some cases, the airway becomes so narrow that the walls of the airway stick together and close up. This usually happens for around 10-30 seconds at a time, but can occur for longer - sometimes up to 50 times an hour or even more.
When the airway finally opens up again, you might emit a loud, violent snore. This event is known as an apnoea. Throughout the night, your body will constantly come out of deep sleep in order to help you breathe. Though you might not be aware of this, it's what causes you to feel sleepy the next day. Sometimes the airway may not fully close, but becomes so narrow that you experience an oxygen drop in your blood. This is called a hypopnoea. Frequent apnoeas and hypopnoeas mean you most likely have Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA).
The Snoreeze LabFit Oral Device treats loud snoring and mild-to-moderate sleep apnoea by holding your jaw forward during sleep. This helps to keep your airway open, stopping it from collapsing during the night and helping you to breathe easily.
How to make a LabFit dental impression
"The Snoreeze LabFit is fantastic. You promptly receive a kit to take an exact mould of your teeth and gums. The instructions are very simple and you can even watch a video instruction guide online. I sent off the mould in the envelope provided and received the LabFit within 2 weeks. I have used various other 'stop snoring' solutions to no avail. The LabFit has enabled a better night's sleep for both me and my partner. I also feel more refreshed when I wake in the morning. It's definitely worth spending a little more to get the LabFit. It fits perfectly, it's less obtrusive and best of all it actually works. I must also mention that their customer service has been first class."
"I'm very pleased with the LabFit. It's very comfortable and a great fit. It’s so much easier to keep clean and I definitely sleep a lot better and have no problems with it dropping off my teeth. The original self-fit device I had was the best of many I had tried. But the LabFit pretty much irons out all the fit issues I used to have."
